ChatStudyAbroad
Terms of service
Effective 5 October 2026
In short: ChatStudyAbroad is an invite-only guide to universities and courses that you use with your school counsellor. Its AI suggestions are guidance, not a guarantee, so check anything important. Keep your account to yourself, use the service fairly, and you can delete your account whenever you like.
1. About these terms
These terms are an agreement between you and Crizac, which runs ChatStudyAbroad ("we", "us"). They cover the ChatStudyAbroad Student app on iPhone and Android and the student pages of the ChatStudyAbroad website. Plexe Ltd builds and hosts ChatStudyAbroad for us.
By setting up an account you accept these terms. Our privacy policy explains how we handle personal data.
2. Who can use ChatStudyAbroad
ChatStudyAbroad is invite-only. Accounts are created through an invitation from your school counsellor.
If you are under 18, your parent or guardian accepts the invitation and these terms for you. By doing so they confirm that they are your parent or legal guardian and that they agree to you using ChatStudyAbroad.
3. Your account
- Your account is for you alone. Keep your password private and do not share your account.
- Keep the details you give us accurate. Your counsellor relies on them.
- Tell us straight away at the privacy contact (to be confirmed) if you think someone else has used your account. If you forget your password, use Forgot password? on the sign-in screen.
4. What ChatStudyAbroad does, and does not do
ChatStudyAbroad helps you explore universities and courses, save and compare them, and work with your school counsellor on your plans. Its assistant uses AI to answer questions and suggest courses.
- It is guidance, not a guarantee. We do not promise any offer, admission, visa or scholarship. Those decisions belong to universities, governments and other organisations.
- Check before you rely on it. AI can make mistakes, and course details, fees, deadlines and entry requirements change. Confirm anything important with your counsellor or the university.
- It is not professional advice on immigration, legal or financial matters.
5. Using ChatStudyAbroad fairly
Please do not:
- use ChatStudyAbroad for anything unlawful, harmful or abusive, or to harass anyone
- pretend to be someone else, or give false information to get an account
- try to get into other people’s accounts or data, or test or break our security
- copy, scrape or resell the service or its course data, or use it to build a competing product
- send malware, spam, or automated requests that put a load on the service
We may suspend or close an account that breaks these rules. Where it is fair to do so, we will tell you why.
6. Your content
What you write and save stays yours. You let us store and use it to run ChatStudyAbroad for you: answering you, keeping your chats and shortlist in step, and sharing it with your school counsellor, as the privacy policy describes. We do not use it for advertising.
7. Our content
The app, the website, the ChatStudyAbroad name and the course information we present belong to us or our licensors. You may use them to plan your own studies, but not for any other purpose.
8. Other websites
ChatStudyAbroad may link to universities and other websites. We do not control them and are not responsible for what they contain or how they use your data.
9. Changes and availability
We keep improving ChatStudyAbroad, so features may change. We try to keep it running smoothly, but it may sometimes be unavailable, for example during maintenance. Some features are in beta.
10. Deleting your account
You can delete your account at any time: in the app, tap your initials at the top right of Home to open your Profile, then Delete account, or go to chatstudyabroad.com/account/delete. What is removed and what your counsellor keeps is explained in the privacy policy.
11. Our responsibility to you
We provide ChatStudyAbroad with reasonable care and skill. As far as the law allows, we are not responsible for losses that come from relying on course information or AI answers without checking them, from decisions made by universities or other organisations, or from events outside our reasonable control.
Nothing in these terms limits liability that the law does not allow us to limit, including for death or personal injury caused by negligence or for fraud. Nothing in them affects your rights as a consumer.
12. Law and disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. If you live in India, you also keep the protection of the mandatory laws of India, including its consumer protection and data protection laws, and you may bring a claim in the courts where you live. Before going to court, please contact us at the privacy contact (to be confirmed). Most problems can be solved quickly that way.
13. Changes to these terms
If we change these terms, we will update the date at the top. If the change is important, we will tell you in the app or by email before it applies. This is version 2026-10-05.
14. Contact
Questions about these terms: the privacy contact (to be confirmed).
